Do you mean the one with 3 women walking with bags of washing on their heads?
    I've got that, somewhere.

That is also on the Reflections of Liverpool website Philip but they're walking to Clare st wash-house. I saw one somewhere of Burrough's baths frontage on the street itself but wracking my brain now.

    Ged.
Did you know that Clare Street Wash-house and the Library were built on the site of the old Adelphi Theatre?

Yes Philip, read that somewhere, possible the records office. Philip Christian was a potter who appearently built a house out of the remains of Gibson's folly that stood on a market site there. I read somewhere too that the Adelphi theatre was also known at one time as the circus theatre which gave rise to Circus street being built opposite which ran down to Byrom Street. Some great history in the area. I also have a pic of people standing outside No46 Christian st taken on 6th Oct 1926 to record the site of tthe old Adelphi theatre which was next door. It's in my book 2, will try to post it later.

It's a bit grainy Philip. Note the pre B&Q ladder.

Default 46 Christian Street & Adelphi Theatre.

    Thanks Ged.

I've not seen that photo before.
Is it from the Record Office?
Have you any of the theatre at that date?

A potted history of the Adelphi is 73 on the "Some Liverpool Cinemas" thread:

Great info Philip. Do you have a photo of the one that replaced it on the opposite side at Rose Hill?

I'll put it in the "Some Liverpool Cinemas" thread later.

    Default Book signing and model

Just to let anyone know who may be interested.

I am at Editions, 16 Cook Street on friday (the Peter Ellis building) signing copies of my books, kindly set up by Ron Formby of the Scottie Press.

I will also have my model there as the Echo are calling in to do a review.

Updated pics of the model can be found on my 'Model views' page on
    www.inacityliving.piczo.com/

You don't have to buy a book - honest, so if you're in town and want to pop in for a chat or a peek, please do so. I'll have some folders/photo albums of pics of Liverpool there too and the framed resident lists.

    Cheers,

    Ged.
