As Linda wrote it, perhaps she should choose a stage name - McCartney sounds good to me

Does that idea have wings, or what!

That photo of the Cavern, brought back memories, I was in a skiffle group back in the early days 1957-1959. We used to play there when it was just Trad Jazz only, and skiffle groups played when the Jazz band had a break, we have played alongside such greats as Acker Bilk, Chtis Barber and Otterly Paterson, Merseysippy jazz band etc and lots more that I forgot. There was no alcohol in those days, the band would get a pass out and go across the road to I think The White Star,( do correct me if im wrong) all they had in the Cavern was coffee or soft drinks, how times have changed Our group was called The Darktown Skiffle group ringo Starr played drums with us in the early days, Rory Storm was called the Raving Texans in those days.A lot has changed since those days.

I forgot to mention that I was still going to school in1957 !! and Ringo was plain old Ritchie Starky. He played with both us and Rory Storm , because there where only a few drummers who had a full kit of drums, so some nights Ritchie would get payed twice , when both groups where on the same bill, always The Jive Hive in Crosby (St Lukes hall ).

Brilliant song and even youngster like me can relate to it. But due to all the years spent working away from Liverpool I find "The Long and Winding Road" more poignant to me personally.

I think that pub you used to pop in to Keith was the Grapes. If I remember rightly, it was not the size it is now. I seem to remember it being half the size.

Kevin. I was thinking, I know this sounds daft, but wouldnt it be good if we had a band to sing that song, with, I dont know, maybe an insects name, Like The Ladybirds, or The Tarantulas, or maybe The Stick Insects. Or of course we could just go for something boring like The Beetles, but make it a bit more funkier, a play on words. Beat as in the beat of music, So hey, What do you think to The Beatles?????? I think that would be a great idea, and you never know one day they might have a hit record.

Basically tells the story of despondency at half time and euphoria after extra time.
