I think the St Peter and St Paul church started out as a Welsh Chapel in 1904. It was taked over by the Society of St Vincent de Paul in the 1980s (might have been a bit earlier) and as you say, it maintained the Latin mass, which was a feature of that Society.

I recently wrote a short piece for a newsletter at work about the views from St. George's Hill. From this I learnt that the church was one of three known as the "Iron Churches" due to the large amount of cast iron used in their construction. It was the earliest of the three churches built by John Cragg the owner of the Mersy Iron Foundry.
