The former Underground toilets - or 'Undies' - in Lord Street, Southport. Now a bar - photographed August 2008.

Don't forget the underground toilets that used to be on the junction of Smithdown Rd, Ullet Rd and Greenbank Dr., and the ones in the park/playing fields behind the tenements on Mather Ave.

I don't like the charges that are increasingly being introduced for their use. It's not that I object to paying - it's just that you often don't have the exact change that is required. Also I've noticed that a lot of pubs and other businesses are putting up signs on their loos saying they are for customer use only.

I think so, and the block in West Derby village became a barbers and is now a florists.

There are not many in the city centre, and now all the alleyways have been blocked off, where do they P?.... anywhere, and everywhere! The shop doorways must be a right mess, come Monday morning!(along with the smell of sewage,in Williamson sqr,and Liverpool 1,apparently!)

    Default toilets

The ones in scotland road are still there,

The father inlaw tells me there used to be toilets in the middle of county road and spellow lane which were bombed during the war!

Top of bankhall on the corner is a toilet, and opposite somerfields on county road are the some toilets on green lane by the bus depo!

Hi there, sorry if this post seems somewhat out of place.

I made a posting yesterday, in relation to this subject of public conveniences. For some reason, the post seems to have been erased from this forum. I'm not sure if I have done something wrong, however I don't think this is the case, as the post did appear initially.

Either way, the post was quite informative and I wonder if anybody knows of any reason why this may have happened.

Anyway, until I have something else to bring top your attention, it's good bye for now...

Some interesting photographs from Callell Laird's Shipyard coming soon...

I don't think this one's been mentioned but there were underground toilets in the middle of the roundabout opposite Birkenhead Central station. I only found out when me and my mates ran across the road to find out why there were steps there. They must have been the most dangerous toilets in the world, it took us at least 3 minutes to cross back onto the main side of the road!
