I remember the excitment of being told that the leprachauns were living on Edge lane, as kids we all legged it up Dorothy street to be met by huge crowds ( word had got about quicker even without mobile phones) the police were sending everybody away as the traffic was piling up... stuck with me for years because my nan who was irish had always told us stories of the "little people" anyway many years later I was reminiscing with an aunt of mine, and she told me that it was her brother who had started that as a joke when he was pulled up about doing something he should'nt have been doing, he blamed the leprachauns, was overheard and word of mouth caused havoc...

Never mind Cottingley! - We have our own, home-grown fairies - or faeries if the records are to be believed. If it was Belvidere Road in Toxteth the fairies had probably strayed out of Princes Park, which has well documented accounts of them in poetry and prose, e.g:

Dang! Cut them OK... but the Paste isn't working for some reason... (They are quite shy, mind...)

Erm!...You lot are away with the fairies.

All this stems back AGAIN with the Victorians, painters such as Atkinson and the like believed in fairies as did someothe English painters.

I suppose you think there's gold at the end of a rainbow as well?

What do you mean 'painters'? - I'll have you know some of us have got actual photographs! - They're just a bit reluctant to appear here - say there's quite enough ridicule here already...

Erm, do you have a lisp? Abstinence doesn't normally have a taste... Oh, perhaps you,
like Clinton, don't count oral experiences...

on the other hand,Absinthe , commonly known as the Green Fairy
rots both the brain and the liver, but may be made using commonly available wild plants,
like aniseed and fennel, seen flourishing recently in Princes Park...

Absinthe...if used properly has hallucinogenic properties. If heated up it can cause a trip. Didn't a few famous writers use this stuff. ?
