I was having a mooch through the old postcards for sale on ebay and came across two cards relating to the Liverpool Gymnasium Training College. I've never heard of it before, does anyone know where it was/is?

Never heard of it. I only heard of the Nautical College the other day though.
Just done a search !it comes up that is was a ladies gymnasium in Myrtle Street, I have never heard of it though...
There's a pic on here somewhere, Colin's I think.

I'm beginning to suspect that although it was called The Liverpool Gymnasium Training College that it wasn't actually in Liverpool. There's a 'London, W.' on the bottom right of the cards which I thought was where the card was printed rather than where the place it depicts was.
A 1907 page is here...

The college was on 171 Bedford St.
I bet it later expanded and the womens part became Barkhill PE Training College (now IM Marsh) near Holt's field, Mossley Hill.
As the beer drinking uni students of the 60's called it -- "home of the Amazon Women"....
