I know he's also not a fan of Balmer. I wonder what mention anyone doing a book on Liverpool Police will make of him and also on the botched Police investigation into the Wallace case. So many Liverpool Police cases have become of National and even International interest from Florence Maybrick to even James Bulger's which was handled fantastically by Albert Kirby that it would certainly make a good read.

There was a book From Cutlasses to Computers abbout the police some years ago. A history of the police - its organisation and changes over the years is not the same as a book about famous cases or about personalities such as Balmer - which makes it something less than a page-turner. That is the problem - how to make it interesting to a wide readership.

Was that book concentrated on Liverpool though or the British police as a whole. I would make it the history of the Liverpool police and it's many firsts but I don't think you could omit some of Liverpool's most famous cases either - and they way they were investigated or mis-investigated.

    Thank you.
