    Is this definatly "Roe St ?",in all due respect this is familiarly looks like by the Philharmonic hall are,can't remember the street?

    George, if you check out the architecture of the 2 dominant buildings in Colin's photo and compare it to the 2 to the right of the tram in the other it may help.
    The curved canopy in the top right of the 2nd. photo is the Royal Court.

    Sorry to be a pain but the photo Dave has put up is not taken from the same place as Colin's original photo. Colin's is from the corner of St Johns Lane and Roe Street. Dave's is from the corner of Roe Street and Queens Square. You can tell the difference by looking at the funny top shaped tower. On the first pic it's on the right. In the second pic it's in the distance/behind on the left.

    That's the back of the open eye gallery on Whitechapel so the bottom end of Hood St/Roe St in the 1980s.

    One of the joys of Yo is being able to view some of the photographs of Liverpool past that you guys post. Although most of them are way before my time there have been so many that have rekindled memories that I would like to take this opportunity to thank you all and hope you keep up the great work.
