    Default Peter Graves RIP

    Peter Graves, the actor best known for his portrayal of Jim Phelps, leader of a gang of special agents who battled evil conspirators in Mission: Impossible, has died. Skip related content
    Graves died of an apparent heart attack outside his Los Angeles home, publicist Sandy Brokaw said. He would have been 84 this week.

    The actor had just returned from brunch with his wife and children and collapsed before he made it into the house, Brokaw said.From Sky News.

    I thought he was great in Mission Impossible, and hilarious in Airplane. How sad.

    Never keen on MI but did like him in Whiplash.

    You are right Kevin,his name was James Arness, he was Matt Dillon and his sidekick was Chester,Miss Kitty was his lady and Doc Holliday
    his drinking companion. I loved those old oaters,

    Indeed, Brian - and Chester (Dennis Weaver) went on to become McCloud, another series I loved.
