I have a photo of sheep being driven up Tithebarn St, I don't mean in a limo.

There were many abattoirs and hide stores in the St. Andrews street/Bronte Street area facing the workhouse, around the plot of land used to build the Bullring on.

Thanks, Ged. I believe that photo of sheep being driven up Tithebarn St is among some press clippings I saved from the Sixties... the photo was carried in the Liverpool Echo in the "My Yesterdays" series circa 1967.

Of course it might be a different shot but it's possible that the Echo got it from the LRO back then... Will look forward to seeing the photo when you pop it up.

In 1890 Liverpool had afar better rail system than today. They even had cattle trucks. What the hell were they doing?

This is a photograph by Charles Frederick Inston (in the album of contact prints in the LRO). I did not include it in my book because my copy was not particularly sharp.
