I thought the point of x-factor was to laugh at all the retarded warehouse workers who think they can sing/dance, and then later on to laugh at lewie and simon argue? Wheres that shane lad from last year? Or the old fella from the year before who was about 40+ and still really shy?

Hes ok but he was lucky to get this far. Hes not that good. Leona is far superior but of course its going to be 'scouse pride' with all Liverpudlians voting Ray rather than talent. Plus jealous teenage girls will vote against Leona.

Leona was the only one on the show as far as i'm concerned that has talent. The rest were either kareoke singers to average.

It will be an injustice if Ray wins.

It's true. Leona is a brilliant singer. True talent.

It's a hard fight as Ray has the cheeky charm about him !

I know for sure that Leona is the better singer but it's so difficult not to let Scouse pride get in the way.
It's cruel that one of them has to get knocked out.

    true story about this lad.

My mum used to teach him. He used to get stick of the other kids for being "loaded."

Amidst all the verbal, and almost physical abuse, my mum used to get from other kids he was the one pupil who made sure my mum was ok and would personally escort my mum to show her around the new school.

You could call this old-fashioned or you could call it 'suckin-up' but I'd call it compassion and because of it I'd say this makes him a credit to the city.

Can't stand light entertainment meself but good luck to the lad eh?

You've gotta love Leona . Although Ray had to chip in often with the personality when being interviewed.

Well done fella you did Liverpool proud. I've never seen the met quarter so busy

So happy shes won. Marvellous voice and a great looking girl as well.

Ray will do well anyway. And he seems to be a nice person and all, but i just don't think his voice is anything special. Leonas on the other hand is on another plain all together.

Ray was sold as a crooner, very much a mini Robbie which is no bad thing and he will do ok, Leonna has a great voice, very talented but very much a Whitney clone, but I think she will do really well if looked after properly, I bet America will be prime for her.
Time will tell, the other past winners have not done as well as expected.
I really don't have time for these talent competitions, but it makes good Tv and lots of money.

I've never bothered watching these type of programs but I did get interested towards the end to see how Ray got on.

He is a nice lad and someone commented tonight on telly that he is a good role model for youngsters.

Ray follows Sinatra to L.A. studio

LIVERPOOL X-Factor runner-up Ray Quinn will be following in the footsteps of his hero Frank Sinatra after being handed a record deal.

The ECHO revealed yesterday that judge Simon Cowell was offering the Liverpool crooner a deal after being impressed with the way he handled losing Saturday's final.

Now the teenage former Brookside actor is set to go to Los Angeles to record a swing album, in a studio once used by Frank Sinatra.

But his mother Val said she did not know anything about his deal yet.

The hospital cleaner said: "Even though he didn't win the final he's still a winner in my eyes.

"The fact he's been given this record deal is news to me - but mums and dads are always the last to know.

"Tonight, Ray is going to the end-of-show party and will just be relaxing and enjoying himself. "He's been absolutely marvellous and he deserves it."

The 18-year-old from Childwall was beaten by former pizza waitress Leona Lewis, 21, in Saturday night's live final.

But after the show Cowell said: "His reaction was amazing. After what he did for Leona, I didn't want him to go home miserable.

"We're sending him to LA to record a swing album in the same place Frank Sinatra used."

William Hill said they were offering odds of 5/2 for Ray to have more hit singles released next year than Leona. DEAL: Ray Quinn
