A pity St. martins cottages couldn't have been saved,in some way,as it was the oldest municipal housing in the country!

Aye George, the arl spuddie. My sister-in-laws family are all from Vauxy and she and my brother also lived there in the 80s and moved out to behind the Green Man when they were demolished.

Dunno if it was true? but my sister said when you looked out her living room window(back of the flat) you would see where the beatles had their jam sessions when they first got together.
This was either a bus shelter(depot) or large Engineers workshop? only a map of the time will I be able to give precise details and roads it was on because I was a nipper back then.
