And now for some that are still open, the Royal Oak on Spellow Lane, shame about the colour.
And the Winslow on the corner of Winslow St and Goodison Rd, I remember
waiting to go into the boy`s pen at Goodison park when about 15 minutes before kick off 3 or 4 everton players would come running out from this pub to the players entrance which was opposite.

Liverpool's newest nightspot, Cube on Seel Street which has a state of the art lighting and sound system which is only to be found in a few places in the UK according to the echo. It seems as some of the district pubs close and get demolished, only the city centre will see new ones being built. Allerton Road and South Road have quite a few wine bars but only other businesses giving over to them.

This, unlike most other night clubs also has a restaurant and roof terrace...

Radio City weekends have been going "bizerk" over this new place.

This used to be called The Rising Sun and was on another of my pub crawls in the 1980s, the ones that saw us frequent the nearby Brunny (Brunswick), Dangsters (Vauxhall Vaults), The Mitre, Excelsior, Rose & Crown, The Wedding House and the United Powers.

judging by the amount of pubs you went in Gedrick, I,d have hated you coming home being sick all over the place and singing silly songs

    Hello me old chippolata.

As you know, there's that many pubs in Liverpool that we had certain crawls for certain parts as you'd only get about 10 or so in.

As youngsters 16-18 our crawl concentrated on The Lamplighter, Seven stars, New York, Old Campfield and Tugboat in the Everton area then into town to the Tiger, Livingstones and Gatsbys.

The top road would see us all meet at the Phil then onto the picket, Chaucers, Plummers, Streets, Kirklands etc etc

London Road was the Prince of Wales then work down to the Legs of man, one mile and 8 pubs later including the Swan.

I could drink more back then and it was lethal stuff - snake bites. The colour and smell of that would turn my stomach now but I was rarely sick and always made it to Goodison on the saturday and back out that night to do it all again. I'd be a millionaire but have less memories had I stayed in

Note: I didn't deny singing silly songs though

Note 2: It's all coming back to me. We used to terrorise the hot dog seller in Victoria St when coming out of Gatsby's at 2.30am. (only playfully though- I think)

Gregs Dad: I heard somewhere that the Glebe in Walton has a few tunnels running underneath it; can't remember what for mind...I think one goes to St Mary's.

Great Snap...I went past it earlier on the 68!

Just reached my hundreth Liverpool pub pic with this one of the Coburg on Sefton St. The plaque telling its history of name changes over the years is framed in the bar with another wooden board, naming all the managers.
I sometimes have a drink in the pub whose picture I have taken. I went in this one because I used to drink in there on a saturday night about 40 years ago Travelling from Kirkby to meet our kid who kept his fishing boat in the Coburg Dock. Here is the set of pub pics.
