    Default pubs

Hi everyone, has anyone out there got any news or photos of The Queen Victoria, King Street Garston. Would love to see them. Does anyone remember The Walton Trades and Labour Club on Rice Lane, had many good nights there, especially when there was a Derby on.

King Edward Pub, Roberts Street Hard to think that this pub is worth £3m! I used to think that this pub should be conserved, but looking at it now, It has no real merit about it and the land could be used for something like a nice tower block. Having said that, the location isn't exactly ideal. You have two major roads surrounding two sides of the site, and the nearest bus service is varibly in-frequent. Tricky one really!

The Eldonian?, Vauxhall Road/Eldon St, Vauxhall Hard to think that this and many pubs alike were once the centre of the community. Just shows how things change over time ay? Actually, this pub still has most of it's fixtures and fittings left in it; I could see it all through the un-drawn window as I walked past!

EDIT: This pub is (or was) called "The Glass House" as seen on Page 2 of the "How Liverpool used to be" thread.

Pub on Mere Lane/Heyworth Street, Everton I must confess that I have fogotten the title of this pub which stands in the shadow of Everton Library! But what a nice looking pub this is! All that mock-tudor detail looks great on this building and is something which would be greatly missed if anything were to happen to it.

The Granton Pub, Granton Street/Breckfield Road, Breckfield I bet there were many a laugh in here once! But I think that the bottom image sums up what devistation this part of the city has endured. Breckfield was once a thriving community with a real community spirit. Now, estates surround one side of Breckfield Road, whilst on t'other side, terraces are derelict and waiting to be pulled down. I think that Breckfield Regeneration need to look at themselves and think about what they are doing. I think that they are going about this in the wrong way. It isn't the terraces that need demolishing, it's the estates. True, the terraces need a bit of tidy-ing up, but demolision isn't the answer. They aren't doing this area any favours by demolising swathes of streets that are now derelict. If anything, they are putting Breckfield at a larger disadvantage.

On that note, I will get me coat!
I recall, there was uproar over that plot of land. Is that the one that backs onto toys r us??
Apparently the land was sold for uner 80,00 and there planning to build a tower like the Beetham.
Insider dealing was suspected, And why not!!??
    Sh*t, I'd've bought it myself.
    Its not what you know...

I remember drinking in the King Eddy in 1970 when I was serving my apprenticeship for H.C.Wooliscrofts in Dutton Street just in the next street.
Trade was slow then, I think.
