I've forgotten the name of the pub', that was on the opposite corner to "Pryor's",in London rd!! Any idea?
It was the Windsor, known as the Greek as it was on the corner of Greek St.
Is this the pub that was known locally as "Effn Nellies"??
No, effin Nellies was the Tatlock on the corner of Vauxhall Road and Tatlock St. The pub pictured was the Non Pareil (meaning no parallel/no equal)

No Joe, I think the Tatlock was on t'other side of the street at the time the Castle was still there. It was demolished in the mid to late 80s along with Tates and all that side.

Ged,
I posted this in another thread
There's a "Cottage Inn" listed in the 1938 Street Directory buts it's in Eldon Place No. 73
Any good?
No mention of Vaults there Georgie
A photo of the Tatlock, complete with effin Nellie. Taken in the 1980s by Joe Devine. Another excellent contributor to the 80s Liverpool catalogue.
