hi kev,just browsing the this site on pubs,the garston pubs alex, paly,welly,especially the derby,did tommy tharme run it,brought back so many memories,they was my watering holes in the 60s,plus the clarence in widow lane.thanks again for great pictures. smiffy

No, effin Nellies was the Tatlock on the corner of Vauxhall Road and Tatlock St. The pub pictured was the Non Pareil (meaning no parallel/no equal)

No Joe, I think the Tatlock was on t'other side of the street at the time the Castle was still there. It was demolished in the mid to late 80s along with Tates and all that side.

I only asked because my sister's pub "The Newsham" was called the Holy House or the Tabby(Tabernacle) because the previous tenants wouldn't allow swearing (on Scotland Road???)
