Agreat find that Paul, haven't seen that T.V. special in years. I noticed the boxer Alan Rudkin who once had the big house was also there.

Below is a pic of the Braddocks on Netherfield rd, right next door to the Old Stingo on the corner of Robsart street. St. Polycarps can be seen beyond at the top of Conway street.

The pic is from Jim Elliotts book 'once upon a time in Liverpool' whom I met with yesterday.

Thanks Ged, a great photo. It looks as though The Braddocks had only just opened (look at the newly planted trees). Do you know what year the picture was taken? It would have been a great view of the city from the top floor.

I don't remember where I got this from, I can't make out the name of the pub on the corner but I think it's on Netherfield road, looking at the lay of the land I would suggest it's looking south ? I have read of the name of the building in the distance on the other side of the road, but of course forget.

There is an Irish club by Miller's Bridge in Bootle. Definitely not a theme pub.

The pub says "Atlantic", but that's definitely the Salvation Army's Ann Fowler Home.

Im 99% sure Tricky that your Photo was taken at the Top of Roscommon St looking toward Shaw St,The Tug Boat pub would have been just Behind the Photographer.

This Photo taken from St George's Hill 13th July 1967.
You can make out Netherfield Rd Centre Picture and Roscommon Street is just in the Picture leading down to Gt Homer St,,I reckon your Photo tricky was taken in that area Looking Left along Netherfield Rd as we look.
Photo from Harry Ainscough's book "Ainscough's Liverpool".

Looking Back along Netherfield Road, Roscommon St is in the Distance just before the Tugboat pub which can be seen behind to the right of the Taxi
Your Photo would have been taken in the Area to the left of the Taxi looking toward the photographer who took this photo..
Photo from Colin Wilkinson and Michael Meadows book "Liverpool then and Now".

That pub is on the corner of either China St or India St, not sure which one.

Thanks guys for all the pics around Netherfield Rd, brings back a lot of memories to me as that was my neck of the woods when I was growing up.

Netherfield road= Pure evil when your bike breaks are broke!

Think my mum grew up around Netherfield for little bit when she was a kid. My mum mostly lived In Woolton though I think.

Pogue Mahone in Seel St is perhaps the most authentic Irish pub.
