That's a shock. Such a big pub too.

I notice the Lord Warden on London Road has closed in the last two weeks but on a better note, The Shakespeare - Stanley Road, The Merton - Merton Road, Bootle (fully refurbed) and The Vernon have all re-opened recently.

You must've been the last patron Mart. Was it something you said?

Deffo shut for the last two sats, had to go the Bar De Mille with my old Garden's mates on sat.

Another one that's just closed down is The Wharf, Merton Road.

Wherma gonna go now for the Everton away games? (and don't say to wherever they're playing)

Oh as I was young and easy in the mercy of his means,
Time held me green and dying
Though I sang in my chains like the sea.

It must be the sale of booze from the offys and supermarkets thats killing the pubs. I used to be terrrified when me dad was going to the pub, when I was a kid. He used to hear what I'd been doing. Then I used to get the hiding.

Great picture Joe. Never knew so many of the pubs in Rock Ferry and Tranmere had closed down. There'll be none left at this rate. The ammount of Wirral pubs closing and being demolished is amazing.
