    I think it looks awful. The square just does not suit having a betting shop. It's ridiculous that the pub was taken away. The pub gave character to the place. Williamson sq just looks bland and needs all the help it can get. A betting shop is the last thing it needs.

    Now this makes me sad.......now i no it wasnt everyones cup of tea,,But back in the day this was a crackin place to go
    used to love the sunday afternoons with Tommy Burke doin his comparing,,,,boxcar willie,,elvis,,jimmy cagney...Deano,,,bing crosby,,plus many more...mostly all Passed on now,,,,but i got great memories of the place...

    Were the Doggy used to be,,,

    I'm not sure what happened as I was away on holiday, but was told it was 'firebombed' in a targetted attack.

    That's really sad. I used to serve in the cocktail lounge upstairs to earn money for when I started college. Used to serve in The Royal Hotel (The Arkles) too.
