    what is the name of the park on walton road by the Halfway House Pub was it called st Marys ? was it always a park?

    yeah played in that park ,whist waiting for astoria to open ,saturday morning cinema ,kids day,

    it used to be St Mary's church & graveyard it was renamed Lester gardens after the church was demolished

    I still call it St Marys park now what is left of it

    St Marys ,Archer Street was est 1836 - church closed in 1973, demolished in 1979

    I have a photo of the church on my PC at home

    my gt grandparents was married there in 1897

    I remember the little park,as I used to go to the "Azzy",and Wessy rd. baths,but no memory of a church around there,other than St.John's.
