Spike, u're right about some of the newer architecture. Just look at the new hospital their building in garston, old one looks much better but I can imagine the facilities weren't the greatest.

Buildingwise, as it is that area of the wirral is a bit of an eyesore anyway and would hopefully benefit from this, although I still don't think it will ever happen... Oh and who cares if them from over the water can see the liver building
Hey! nowhere in Wirral is an eyesore. This is the true centre of Merseyside...

Are you in a time warp Pabs, the Royal is over 40 years old, nearly as old as moi.

That last building posted looks a wee bit narrow, like an aeroplane wing. That glass building on the corner of Dale st and Castle st was once classed as innovative but i've always thought it looked bland. We'll never get the real ornamental architecture that Oriel Chambers or 16 Cook St - both by Peter Ellis as money is the big issue these days as to whether anything gets built and the less ornamentation the better - well no - the cheaper.

Transport would be a big part of the outline planning permission. Surely, the development would stay on the table without this? I mean, I can't see the planners being in a position to grant approval without this?

I know I watched it go up. But I think any building put up sine the fifties is new.

I've seen some fantastic new builds around the World. Dubai springs to mind. First time I was there, it was no more than a village.

There is nothing much in the Wirral to have a go at. Seen Birkenhead?

I know. They're still knocking the old houses down. Don't seem to be putting much in it's place though. There's not much at all in Birkenhead of any note, cept Hamilton Square and the Priory. It's gotta be one of the worst towns in the country these days.

The sooner the Wirral is incorporated into the city of Liverpool the better. Planning can be cop-ordinated and all are pointing one way.

They have to for the benefit of all. Without Liverpool the Wirral would be like the other bank of the River Dee.

St John's Precinct and Clayton Sq shopping mall are both awful.
