I was born in Everton Valley , as i remember it the was big houses on the same side as the pub , we lived in rooms , the house was owned by Johnny Morrisey who played for Everton , the there was the bank , and over the road was Pobjoy's jewellers and Harry Quuins bike shop .. Opposite the house i remember the bus stop and Barn's sweet shop , i cant remember what else was there though .. I'll ask my Dad , he'll know .

Don't recall any flats being at the bottom of everton valley? there where hi-rise flats at the junction of scotland Road and Boundry Road, behind those flats where Hi-rise flats on Great Homer Street.

    What type of flats?

Here's a pic below of Everton Valley which Ged F posted elsewhere, the bank you can see opposite the pub and on the pub side further up(Blue Gates) I'm sure that was either a builders yard or council depot? opposite the pub is the Barcleys Bank, its closed down now and in recent times was a Upholstrey funiture business.

I can't realy pinpoint what the yard was he's on about, even though I was forever going around that area when I wus a lad.

Lived in Albion Street which was the next street to St Domingo Rd,went to Venice street school and I used to either cut through Tommy white gardens or sometimes take the long way round which meant going right down the bottom of St Domingo and up past Notre Dame girls school.

A PIECE OF HISTORY - I RECOMMEND INTRODUCING THESE BACK TODAY -
Looking upwards back up Everton Valley ( from near the old Post Office) ---
To the left of the Derby Arms pub are 2 shops (a sweetshop and a travel agents)...then a back street, and then the Black Bull pub.
Just round the corner in the back street , was the simplest men's urinal toilet I have ever seen .
It was just 3x pieces of slate (say 2 to 3 inches thick and 7 foot high )...there was a long factory wall (which i think may have been
Rainford's Demolition back wall)---and the street urinal toilet used that wall as its back wall,
and coming off it was one piece of slate (forming a dead end inside ) , which then joined the long front piece of slate at right angles,
the third piece then provided a shorter side to the first side, which allowed a gap "entrance" between the slate and the wall of
    about a yard width.
Inside the front wall was a brown gutter drain in the floor, so men could wee on the front slate and it ran down into
the sloping gutter drain in the ground and then away down a hole.....
I think the whole thing was open to the elements, especially the rain ...which keptthe whole place "washed" and clean ...
It was a life saver for men coming along with beer in them or just desperate to go...
No sit down of course...just a urinal...
How on occasions through my life as more and more councils close toilet blocks / facilities I wish these were dotted around the country..
It did its job simply, with modesty maintained for all, and with an absolute minimum of cost maintenance.
If anybody with Council clout is reading this, please give it some thought...
A very welcome public facility at practically No cost after the cheap set up cost...
you KNOW it makes sense ....?:-))...

    GEORGIE...
You mentioned Yardumium died soon after moving to the new Wessie Road surgery from the closed Everton Valley surgery.
I know for a fact that Young Yardumium was there in 1996, so you must be referring to Old Yardumium.
They were Father and son Doctors. both served in Everton Valley surgery..cheers, Tomk.

As far as I know the only pubs in Everton Valley were the Derby Arms and the Valley.
Next door to the Derby Arms was what remained of the Lyric Theatre.

I remember that pub was an Ind Coopes pub, I think but am not certain it was called the Swan. It used to have cream and brown tilles on the front. It was on the corner of a lane, which formed the other side of the old theatre mentioned on Everton Valley.

What period are you interested in?
    I might have some information.

The Record Office have post-war Ordnance Survey maps (called 50 inch) which are a large enough scale to identify anything.

Chances are they have copies from each decade.

    Ok here the info.

The red brick build next door but one from the pub up is or was the Lyra or Lydol? Theater at one time, the blue gates was some sort of works, next to that was the council depot...knew there was a council depot on the block somewhere.
