It is coming to the close of the noughties and that means the last New Year Honour List for the decade. Though he was most famous in the 60's and 70's, is it not about time that Ken Dodd got tapped on the shoulder with the Queens Sword?

I know he was a bit edgey with his tax donkeys years ago, and that is the reason often mooted for the lack of a knighthood. However, he has to my knowledge never appeared in court on drugs related charges. Which is the worst?

SIR Mick Jagger a convicted drug user sentenced (but never served) to 3 months gaol in 1967.

Or

Plain old Mr Ken Dodd acquitted of tax evasion in 1989.

I am not holding my breath though, and personally think it is a national scandal after all these years that he isn't knighted. Thoughts?
