    Exclamation Red Phone Boxes

    Red Phone Boxes

You know what they look like but do

many exist on our streets? How many and where are they located? Is it true there are less than 5 on Liverpool's streets?

    The challenge is to photograph

or share the pictures you already have of our beloved red phone boxes on Liverpool's streets and the wider urban environment.

    The prize? A meeting

meeting with this fella who frequents them often I've

    heard:

There are probably more in the USA than there are over there, just about every

    British pub has one.
You can always count on Americans to do the right thing - after they've tried everything else.

How about a thread about letter boxes as well? There's some boss ones dotted around

    Liverpool.

It looks like the red telephone boxes have only been retained outside significant buildings, or in conservation

areas, but it comes as a shock to hear there are so few.
There are still 2 outside the former North Western Hotel in Lime Street.

The red phone box was designed by

Giles Scott who designed the Anglican cathedral. Portugal bought British telephone and post boxes of which many are still about.

Deprived of its unique dockland waters Liverpool
becomes a Venice without canals, just another city, no
longer of special interest to anyone, least of all the

canals to view its modern museum describing
    how it once was?
