I think so, so i'd put the pic at about 1929 maybe - how long would it have taken back then to build the cinema?
Yes, Ged, 1929.
I've had to wait for a reply from somebody who knows.
He says:
"It was built by J A Milestone between 12 March 1930 and 18 May 1931.
The new cinema was announced in the Liverpool Echo dated 27 June 1929.
W Aubrey Thomas supplied plans in 1925 of a cinema to be built on the site, but that scheme wasn't followed through."
Just imagine if that had been built.
A cinema by the architect of the Royal Liver Building.
I reckon it's worth reposting this, incase any of the newer members ain't seen these photos

My first date with my wife was in there on New years day 1955 after meeting up with her on New Years eve outside St Mary`s Church,Walton, where people used to gather to let the new year in.
We then went back to her friends for an all night party and made a date to meet outside the Princess.
She had to travel from Old Swan while I just walked up from Kirkdale but I did see her home safe,as always a gentleman. The picture was Seven Brides for Seven Brothers and I bought the ice creams.
