btw any photos of the old Gem cinema Vescock Sstreet??
I've got a pic of the Gem but only as the Gem Social Club in the 80s. It was a pretty uninspiring looking building, not one you'd associate with the lavish cinema architecture of the big ones.
Iam still looking for a pic of the old cabbage hall cinema.
Have tried all sources, without any success at all
Sirob from this site now has one and will be including it in his new Cinema book.
Don't forget me if you ever find one!
I'd love to see a photo of the old Cabbage cinema. I'd like to see any of that end of Lower Breck rd in general. (that end was formerly called Rochester rd).
The annoying thing is that we've got a couple of family snaps taken right by there 1930s, but the camera is facing the Willow Bank pub and not the cinema !
Please excuse all and any geographical ignorance I inadvertently display...

Alas Cabbage Hall Cinema may be too vague a description for it yielded nothing.
I think everybody's been down that road Oudeis (pardon the pun)
Sirob found it by investigative work that was quite clever. As it's the only copy, i'm pretty much sure he wants it kept secret how he got it so that it's the only one of its kind in his forthcoming book.
Have tried all sorts of things. It is Lower breck road, taken over by LFC supporters as a club
and the front was re built. I have tried LFC, the architechs who did the plan for the new front
Liverpool Echo archives, LRO and looked for it on cinema treasures etc, all to no avail.
Yes will do Lindy, my gran worked the box there and did the ice cream round
