There has been correspondence in the Daily Post this week which I am surprised hasn't been commented on in this group.

It is of course best taken with a pinch of salt - but sharing it out of interest - and perhaps there might have been someone who might have seen something! ;-))

An letter appeared in the Liverpool Daily Post this week
claiming that several passengers on arriving at Liverpool on board QUEEN
MARY 2 on October 20 saw a large ghostly statue on the Liverpool waterfront
near the Beetham Tower.

The writer claimed that the statue was of a long haired woman and was around 200 feet high and was wondering if anyone on the Birkenhead waterfront photographing the arrival of QM2 had seen the phenomenon as they claim it must have been visible from there.

The writer also wondered if the Merseyside author Tom Slemmen, who writes on paranormal activities on Merseyside would comment on what was seen.

Mr. Slemmen did reply to the letter in the Friday November 20 edition of
the Daily Post.

He claimed what the passengers saw could be a time slip from
the future, showing a structure which will eventually appear on the
waterfront in years to come.

He further speculated that rather than being a "long haired woman" it was
likely to be a statue of John Lennon which may be erected Statue of Liberty
style near the Liverpool waterfront!

All sounds like a load of "hocus pokus" - but of course if you were down on
the Wirral waterfront that day photographing the ship's arrival - might be
worth carefully checking your photographs!
