Yes Ramsfield Road off Alderfield Drive and leading to West Mains. I believe "The Parades" is now 2 way traffic instead of one way all the way around. I bet that has caught a few motorists out.

Then there was Stapleton Avenue that went through the middle of the park. That all got knocked down (Tenaments) and the park got extended. Now theyve scrapped the Park!

I was suprised that St Chrisys got demolished. I remember the priest there Father Cunningham.

Ganworth Road flats got knocked down from 3 story flats to 2 story houses.

Hadn't realised that has gone as well. I was there from 1956-61.
The church had just been built - I remember the organ pipes laying in the playground until they were ready to install them.

Great to see pics of where l grew up. The Crescent looks so sad now, l remember being taken there and sitting by one of the cottages back gardens watching the chickens while mum did a bit of shopping.
We moved to the other end of Speke about 1957 so lived in both types of houses. lt was a great place to grow up with the farms, woods and shore as playgrounds.
Thanks for bringing back old memories

Was that actually planned in the 20's and 30's in the South Liverpool area?

There are quite long stretches with no/few pubs.

    Brodie Av/long Lane has none
Aigburth Rd. has ony one between Aigburth Vale to Garston
Not much South of Rose Lane up to the Greeenhills...

Was this actually planned in the era of "The Pledge" when I presume this area was populated?

Or was I brought up in a non-drinking area....
