A shot of Times Square. It's been cleaned up a lot. First time I was there it was the seediest place in the World. New York had a Police Chief and he done a lot to clean the place up.

Another one of Times Square, this time at night.
hi pablo,
nice pics BTW. I prefer the older nyc, around Greenwich village, with the old watertowers, fire-escapes on the side of buildings and leftover painted Ad's.
great city!
Yes it is a very interesting place. Done most of New York in the past. It's amazing how it's changed from the first time I went.
It can be a little claustrophobic, with all the bustle around you. A bit like Liverpool and Christmas shopping. Very exciting too.
Great photos
I love that area...Very atmospheric. I also love the area by the Plaza/Central Park/FAO Schwarz toy store
It is Accomplished
I like the older, more humane scaled NYC - away from all the noise & bussle!
Try Chicago for that. Me favourite city in the States. It's got an atmosphere and a brashness unique to it. Lovely place.

Good photographs there, Pablo.
Missing from Times Square today is what I first knew about it in the Fifties, when one of the ads was a Camels cigarettes advertisement that blew real smoke rings. I have learned that the sign was a Times Square landmark from December 1941 to 1966.
See "Smoke Rings Over Broadway" and "A visual history of Times Square spectaculars" by Alan Cutler.
The other famous thing about Times Square is the iconic image of VJ Day, 1945 of the sailor kissing the girl.

Funny that Chris, cos I seem to remember the camel. I couldn't have as I never went there until the seventies. Must have been the telly.
That picture says it all about the end of the war. I'm sure I seen a programme about those two people. They traced them down. Magic.
Keeping it real!
