I'm inclined to think that the re-burying of the Old Dock is a bloody scandal and a golden opportunity totally wasted.

Disagree. Just an old dock, good for nothing and nobody. Time to move on.

*sighs* when are we going to get some decent sunshine...
Great pics Kev. I think those 17 (ish) cranes on your 4th one down may be the record.
is it an optical illusion or is one of those red craines on the left leaning?second picture down or is it that it
just looks like its leaning.

I think that one's an optical illusion but others definitely lean at times. Pretty scary too during the big storm back in January, a couple of them were swaying several feet each way, and the crane accident on Duke Street was still in the news at the time
I can't get over how fast the Pelli tower has shot up either. I think there's only the hotel next to the bus station that hasn't started going up yet, but its foundations are well under way.

BUILDERS have reached an important milestone in the construction of a showpiece apartment block in Liverpool.
They are now fitting glass cladding to the sides of One Park West, the 17-storey tower next to what will soon become Chavasse Park, in the city centre.
Once finished, the block will be the tallest building in Grosvenor’s Liverpool One shopping district and is expected to open in February 2009.
It will contain 326 apartments, the first two phases of which were snapped up in just five days after going on sale in March.
