Hello Yo I'm still alive (just about)
Thought I'd make a return to this thread since it's the one that got me interested in Yo Liverpool all those years ago! Went for a walk round the new bits of Liverpool One but halfway round the park the heavens opened big-style so I legged it back to work. Tried again today, stayed dry but wayy too cold to stop and admire the surroundings.

First impressions - it's fantastic! And that's from someone who doesn't really do city centres and shopping arcades - give me a quiet mountaintop any day. It's what Liverpool has needed for a long time - bright, modern, in-your-face This-Is-21st-Century-Liverpool. Can't wait for the dark evenings to see it all lit up (looks brill in some after-dark photos I've seen) and hot, dry days to sit out on the park (that grass puts bowling greens to shame
) but do we get them any more in this country?
I'm made up with the work Grosvenor have put into Liverpool, five years ago when I heard Chavasse Park was going to be dug up and a shopping centre put in its place, I thought, "oh great, there goes a rare piece of city centre greenery for another St John's precinct". I well and truly take it back though - I never realised how much wasteland was in this city until the projects like Liverpoo One and the Echo Arena moved in.
