Default What were your favourite sweets as a child?

I know there has been an A-Z of sweets and chocolate but this is a bit different. What was you favourite sweets/confectionary as a child? In the early 60s I remember sweets called "Glees" that were a little bit like "Skittles" - sugar coated sweets that were all different colours. Wish I could get them now. I also loved "Mintola" and proper "American Hard gums". A lot of sweets from the past can still be bought in specialist shops but they dont just taste the same.

Gotta be a Kit Kat. We could never afford them, but when we got one it was right special. Same goes for a Bounty.

Can still get Cough Candy by the quarter in my local post office. Have not seen Coconut Ice in slab form for years, tho my daughter-in-law had a go at making some for me recently.

Fry's Five Centres and Nux bars was what my dinner consisted of when I first started work. Always liked Flying Saucers as well....but they didn't last very long

Before the sweets came off the ration my mum used to buy a Mars bar on a Friday ( her payday) and she would cut it into thin slices before sharing it out between my two sisters and I. It was actually advertised showing it in slices so we never felt hard done by
.When we got our pocket money off our Granny and aunts and uncles, we used to buy a Caley Bar, they cost sixpence and had six squares of chocolate, each with a different filling. Bluebird chocolate toffees were another favourite and Meesons sold a whole range of mouth watering sweets, but, you needed the coupons as well as the money. I'd love to have a chew on a Williamsons chocolate toffee bar, that was living!!
