Default Liverpool & Wirral History Website

    Hi all

    ADVERTISING

I am new to this forum and have stumbled across it recently. I have a great interest in Liverpool?s history and hope to complete a website about it soon. I have recently completed my Wirral history website which has lots of history about the area. If any of you would like to view it the website is www.oldwirral.com

As I said I hope to start work on a Liverpool site early next year. I will be using this forum to help research the site and look forward to speaking to you all !

    Best Regards

    Doctor Frick

    Hi Dr Frick,

I was looking forward to visiting your new site when i read your announcement.

However... Is it me or are there some serious problems there? For example,

    http://www.oldwirral.com/articles.html

    - displays nothing but the word 'menu' on a totally black page. 'Ebooks' ditto. 'Events' ditto. 'Forum' has a nice photograph of terraced houses running dow to the river but nothing else. Just black. 'History' has a map of the Wirral and nothing else. 'Genealogy' is identical.

The 'maps' pages show the interesting old maps but absolutely no captions or interpretation of them.

When I click on one of the articles on the home page-

    http://www.oldwirral.com/index.html

    - for example, the 'Neston Brook Street Excavation' I can see the text for a second and then a wall of black descends, obliterating all. The same happens to all the other articles.

Oh dear, what a shame. The contents of Old Wirral look very interesting but are impossible to read! The site as it stands is little short of disastrous.

    Sorry, just trying to help...

Yes, I can navgate around and see the pics but, as I said, the text is unreadable. Can everyone else read it?

On, for example, http://www.oldwirral.com/neston_dig.html, the text appears for a split second, black on a white background but then a wall of black descends, hiding it (see my screenshot below)..

    Anyone else experiencing this?
