It is not right that LFC should be allowed to tear up a listed Victorian park in a rundown area in order to build a new stadium.

This park has been neglected for years, the palm house, lake and gardens look tatty.

How can you call this regeneration/ If Liverpool want a new stadium there are plenty of other places for it.

Concreting over half of the park is a strange way of restoring it.

Well, Humboldt Park is the center of Chicago Puerto Rican community. It's a neighborhood in a little bit of transition. Lots of low income residents and families sharing space with young urban professionls who are gentrifying the area. On warm summer or fall days, you might see young "yuppie" couples (for lack of a better word) jogging past the the guys hanging out in the park blasting tunes from their cars. It's a colorful area, lots of Puerto Rican clothing stores and record shops and great small restaurants.

Could it be because they're too old?
Liverpool's parks are between 100 - 150 years old.

They have done exactly the same in Sefton Park.

My Pa told me that they've made a right mess of the place...
