i for one had a great time.

hope everyone else that went to see her had a good one too.

a few niggly things spoilt it, people pushing by and getting in the way of a good shot, the ferry hitting a wave and ruining that perfect pic. and my camera bag breaking in two places, time to get a new one.

if anyone goes to the fireworks, enjoy and wrap up warm

Brilliant pics all. It amazes me when I think my mum went the states on that beauty.

Still, worth a million pounds to the local economy; not bad for one day's pay.

For that I care, and the more welcome we make him, the more he just might just want to stay.

Fantastic pictures and wonderful to see the ship at the Pier Head. I didn't realise Cunard passenger operations were shifted to Southampton in the 1930s. I wonder why that was?

I've travelled to New York twice on the ship on a round trip, which includes five nights in NY in the Marriot in Times Square. Pretty good value for a 19 day holiday. Loads of activities on the crossing, films, shows, plays, all sorts of activities. Fantastic food and service. It's quite an experience. I was surprised to see tugs around it yesterday. It doesn't use any in New York.

Only the two largest liners, the Queens. Government money paid to finish the rusting Queen Mary on the slips at Glasgow. The condition was that to get the money and the lucrative mail contract to North America, the government instead the two largest ship use only southern ports. The rape of Liverpool continued

I was surprised to see tugs around it yesterday. It doesn't use any in New York.
The tugs were to turn her around, she sailed up the river by herself. Her bow thrusters alone can manoeuvre the ship onto the landing stage.

I did the Maiden Voyage on her, a 14 day trip to West Indies and Fort Lauderdale Fla. in January 2004 and in January 2006 I did the round South America trip six weeks, Fort Lauderdale to Los Angeles via Cape Horn six weeks.
She is a fantastic ship, the best I have ever been on for Everything.
She is the only ship with a planetarium. Your seat rolls back and then you seem to travel through space and the stars and planets. An incredible experience. Fantastic catering and entertainment.
Forget the kids inheritence go on a trip on QM2.
