    Great pics those quincy.

Here's one of my dad in Alexandria, Egypt.

He was very philosophical about the war, telling me it was a free trip around the world. On this trip with the Royal Navy, he sailed around the cape and up the Suez into Port Said. Whilst milling around in a crowd, he felt a tap on the shoulder, it was only my mams brother who was there with the 8th Army fighting Rommel - what a small world. My dad saw some action at Tobruk he said. He ended up giving his medals to my older brother who used them as sheriffs badges when growing up in the 1950s playing cowboys and Injuns with his mates and lost them.

And here's what he was fighting for....

My daughter's 'with attitude' bedroom doors. No, they're alright really

Did you notice those 3 hairy catarpillars that I glued onto my face. Those ones that were knocking about during the hot summer of 76, they lasted well didn't they, yes, of course you noticed them, you couldn't not have.

The second picture - the shirt you are wearing - those shirts were very fashionable, my husband had one similar to that with fancy buttons. They were lovely shirts at the time.

Ah that's right Lindy, the buttons were like big square onyx rings like you'd wear on your fingers.

He had another one - creamy white with elaborate silver buttons and metal tips to the points in the collar. It was a classy shirt - it's a shame they are no longer in fashion.

What's that you're holding, quincy? It looks like a gatefold LP but I can't make it out properly.

'out of the blue' by my all time fave band ELO
there was a big ELO display in the window of Woolies in Church St and I pestered my parents for months for the album. Paid off as I got it for Xmas.

Still have it actually, along with my entire record collection from 60's onwards.

Some bloke painted the massive ELO initials on his roof on Russian Drive (L13). When we used to walk up to school you could see it from Quarry Road. It was there for years - don't know if it still is though.

Aha-ELO! [and that title reminds me of a song by "Cast",John Power's former group...] Hope you keep those records in good nick, some of them could be worth something! How many do you have-must be a lot over 40 years?

    Dave.
