Hi Spike
the queen mary 2 will be in liverpool on tuesday the 20th of october.. from about 11am to 11pm.

mersey ferries are doing tours of the queen mary most of the day (guessing just an upclose 'sail by' as part of normal ferry trips) but there is one special 'cruise' @ 9.45-11.05am that will have a official blue coat tour guide onboard. it's for ?8 so pretty cheap for a two hour trip.

currently doing a tour to celebrate cunards 170th birthday.

it sounds like, the ferry will travel up the mersey and meet 'her' coming in, following the ship to the dock. i think the report said there would be a firework display before 'she' sets sail late tuesday night.
so, even if you can't get time away from work etc. you could still go later on in the evening and watch the fireworks..
i remember as a kid watching the QE2 in the mersey (guessing mid 90's) no fireworks but it did play 'ferry cross the mersey' at full volume.
so if anyones around the mersey area with time on their hands it might be worth a look.. just thought you would all like to know
