Can we stay on topic, this thread does not relate to spelling in the title...

The best way is tiny willow spines held by sinew. When the sinew is digested the willow spines pierce the stomach. Usually takes forty minutes.

    Just kiddin' Scouse...or am I.

As was the mention of Norris Green???? Anyway...............

Scouse Smurf.... Magpies I kill by shooting or getting a Larsen trap and then kill the bugger humanely. I hate to see any animals suffer.

Ps. Hope my spelling is up to scratch

Ok I will tell you about "The Point of shooting Magpies"...
I used to have Sparrows,Linnets,Skylarks,Pheasants and Partridges nesting and feeding around by my area. Not anymore. This is due to Magpies. The magpies don't have a preditor as they are the preditor. Do you think it will be nice just seeing black and white murderous birds ONLY ? That goes for Grey squirrels too.
Magpies do not kill for food. They kill to be the most common bird around.
Grey Squirrels are a pest. They kill so many trees and also so many birds.
Just like the magpie they destroy nests. Kill chicks and eat eggs.
I have watched the common garden birds dwindle in the past few years and I do know that it is down to Magpies and squirrels (along with a little help from man too)

If I catch a squirrel or magpie it will be fed to a hawk or the squirrel will be cooked with a nice bit of veg

    Ok my rant over....again!!

Forgot to add that Some people should stick to A-Z of games!!!
So you decide to play God and who gave you that right?

I suggest you leave things to nature because the bottom line is, you are the worse predator of the lot! These poor animals have no defence against you and that is grossly unfair.

One day, as you are aiming your weapon at a magpie, someone could be aiming something at you!

And do you think I believe in GOD ?

If I didn't shoot magpies near my home then all I would see when I look out would be pidgeons, magpies and grey squirrels instead of the woodpeckers, long tail ****,chaffinches, goldfinches, collared doves, hedge sparrows, blackbirds, song thrush and mistle thrush. That is a fact. I have yet to get house sparrows back, linnets, bullfinches and skylarks.
I feed the birds everyday and I have put up many different types of nest boxes. I have and will continue to help "our" garden birds.

My friend is a Dr of Ornithology who looks after red kites. He was on tv last week (The one show). I think he knows more than anyone here and he is in agreement about magpies and squirrels too.

    Ok enough from me.
Do your garden birds a favour and get rid of a magpie or squirrel today!!!

Diane, not that I'm siding with Zappa but isn't anything us humans do part of natural scheme of things too ?

They always go on about natural order when predators kill animals and we're pretty much top of the tree. if we're torturing things then that's wrong coz it's just doing it for evil fun (like cat's with mice) but if there is a genuine purpose and it's done in a humane way then there's justification for it.

Whether it be Farmers killing foxes or the extreme of Zappa's personal quest to rid the world of magpies. ya gotta admit there's a lot more around now that there used to be and u see less smaller birds

Cruel treatment of anything is totally wrong, justified culling isn't wrong
