I checked the Cathedral website and it doesn't appear to say a price but I think it was about £4.50 when I last went up late last year.

EYES will be opened to the glory of the city’s religious and cultural heritage thanks to a hi-tech £3m revamp of Liverpool cathedral. more
It's a real shame that Liverpool Cathedral can't get their priorities right. Ever since they put the bells in, the accoustics have been really bad because the bells have the whole of the massive tower to echo around in before the sound comes out. They're regarded as the hardest peal to ring on if you're not used to the sound and depending on the wind depends on whether you can hear them outside!

And the same at St Paul's Cathedral:

I've just uploaded a new video on youtube.com - this time showing the ringing chamber at Liverpool Cathedral with all 12 bells going.
If you think there is something wrong with the sound, trust me, there ain't! That is the very poor accoustics in the tower and it is what you hear!

I was in St James' gardens on Saturday when they were ringing the bells and they sounded pretty good.
Found this picture of St James' cemetary from 1834.

Really wierd, but even since being a wee kiddie, church bells scare the absolute sheeeit out of me!!
I couldn't even go up that tower even if they weren't ringing!!!
Panicattacking Hell!!!!

I can't really put a scale on how big those bells are. Where is the ringing chamber by the way Jona?

Try my website - there's a chap standing next to the 11th bell which is just over 2 tons in weight.

If you look at the 1934 picture, you'll see the metal frame - that's the ringing chamber.
THAT sort of weather is amazing when Great George is being tolled - the 14 ton bell. You can actually SEE the fog move around the louvers in the tower!
Yes Kev some brill images there what sort of lens were you using? It is great, thanks. Have you seen the views on this page?
