Great indoors pic',but a pity the outside is a bit tatty looking! Whoever they got to clean the stonework,( and the Victoria monument) shouldn't get any more work,at least!

A little unfair I think. It has long been recognised that the stonework of Liverpool Town Hall is exceptionally difficult to clean due to the nature of the stone, which over the centuries has succumbed to severe atmospheric damage. It would now be vitually impossible for any stone cleaning company to achieve a uniformly clean appearance. Experts consider this could only be achieved by firstly taking drastic action and removing and replacing large sections of the original stonework. I think most people favour leaving the original stone in situ.

Is that why they unleashed the idiots(generally accepted!) who made such a mess of the Victoria monument? I'm certainly no expert on architectural renovation,or even stone, but they(?)seem, to do a good enough job, in other cities,so can this be down to the particular materials, used on the town hall?

This would be St Michael in the Hamlet, Toxteth Park. The Toxteth bit having been airbrushed out in recent years but it's still the official name of the Church. See
