    Default Passenger lists

I'm trying to trace my partner's grandfather who arrived in Liverpool sometime between 1911 and 1915. He probably sailed from a port in India. Are there any lists online?

    Thanks,
    Simon

Ancestry recently added a large number of passenger lists for vessels arriving into the UK between 1878 & 1960. There are many that sailed into Liverpool.

Ancestry is a subscription site. If you can post as much info you can, ideally if known, his full name, approx. age, nationality, occupation, address in UK etc I will take a look for you if you want.

    Default Mohamddin Peterson

    Cheers Johnny,

He was Mohamddin Peterson (aka John Peterson after 1922 when he was christened in Anfield), born in India in 1894. I think he came to Liverpool some time between 1911 and 1915. He joined the Liverpool Regiment and served in the First World War. His parents were Gulam and Susie Peterson. Mohamddin (aka John) married Margaret McLachlan in Anfield in 1922.

    Default From Karachi?

Mohamddin and his dad Gulam were originally muslims from India, therefore probably from northern India in what is, since 1947, Pakistan. I'm guessing therefore that Mohamddin sailed from Karachi. (Gulam married Susie - a scandanavian lady, hence the surname Peterson.)

Here are all the ships (name, line, and official voyage number) travelling to Liverpool from Karachi between 1911-1915:

    Hi Simon

I took a look at the incoming passenger lists on Ancestry but had no success. These lists are simply passenger lists rather than crew lists so if he was a seaman they would not include him. I did find his christening & marriage records, also his WW1 Army Medal index card. Have sent you a private message.
