Just thought i would add these two pics to this Woolton thread...

The date is the 6th of July 1957..

and the first pic contains a 16 year old John Lennon (this is the day he met Paul McCartney) and the rest of the Quarrymen on the Rose Queen parade...

these were taken going down Kings Drive..
    the route was..
    Down Kings Drive..
Up Hunts Cross Avenue..(past Mike & Acies chippy)
    Then up Manor Road..
    going back into the village.

Thanks for the memory! Kezzie, I remember Chadwick's (lorry) and they also had a farm in Halewood, way back in my childhood days! Cheers

    Hi Kezzie,
great pic's,and can't say I've ever seen them before, which made me think, are they your's? If so, is it O.K. to save them for personal use? I know a couple of people who'd like to see them!
    Ta Steve.

Looked again and enlarged. John Lennon is in the check shirt. I don't think he knew he was having his photo taken.

No the car is not the Super model as that had a white stripe on the side and such desirable extras as "Ankle Straps".
