    Flats built on the Wapping Basin,now private property, someone left the gate open.

    Thanks, Joe. If this is where I think it is, it's where I used to work, for a summer job, as a clerk for the Dock Board in one of the Wapping warehouses. Vide my poem "Dock Boy."

    Trees being felled at the private entrance to Wapping Basin flats

    Wapping Quay,all private land now

    the view from Dukes dock bridge with Liverpool cathedral slowly disappearing
    behind more legoland buildings

    Thanks for these further docklands views, Joe. I especially appreciate the one of the Wapping warehouses where I worked. I must have my slides from 1966 scanned!

    Here's a similar view to the one above, taken by my old school pal Geoff Andrews in May 2000. It's interesting to see how the city is being transformed, for better or worse.

    Those are the trees they are cutting down Chris, on you friends pic. I presume the roots are lifting the small blocks they have laid over them

    Also notice on this picture that you captured the Crane that fell over onto the other building, I am surprised this has not been mentioned.




    The white "Flats" are known as the Royal Quay. I used to do security on the weekends there. and yes the tree roots were lifting up the paved area making it dangerous to walk an at night.
