i am trying to research my family tree but cant even get started as the names and addresses seem not exist.
please can someone confirm or point me in the right direction where can find forge place around 1930. it was off mill street, opposite kings gardens. between warwick street and hill street. the back ran on to prince william street.
what would be brilliant is if someone actually lived in the area and can share some info...
thanks in advance for any snippets of infor that can help, even to the smallest degree
A quick Google brought some up....
Hi Wally,
I lived in Forge Place,in the late 1930's its entrance was off Mill St...
between Hill & Warwick Streets.
I think there were only 14 houses, that backed onto Prince William street,
the entrance was a narrow entry, Mill St.. was a very busy shopping area at
this time . the shops I remember on each side of the entrance at this time
was A Rawlinson Fish shop, on the other side was Mrs. Dales Dressmaking
Shop. ( Poor but Happy days)
