Tancred Road, yep these houses can look real nice when done up.

Those steps were put in on the renny and were not there when the street was devoid of inhabitants.
The adjoining streets are gonna get the same treatment whether they're privately owned or Landlord owned at a cost of ?10,000 per house at the cost of the tax payer...well they say its euro funds/regeneration money.

Hi Taffy, just wondered,as you were down that way, do you know if the nature reserve inside Seaforth dock is still there? It's about 3/4 years since I was there, and they had begun to build over the vacant land/lake,then,saying it was never meant to be permanent!

Joe's photo is somewhat deceiving to the eye because of the telephoto perspective which makes the hotel appear to be between two of the dock warehouses, whereas it it is in fact well beyond Salthouse Dock and on the far side of the Strand in the new Liverpool One, next to the police HQ. For the same reason the photo makes St John's beacon seem much closer than it really is.

Thanks - I was amazed that planners would allow it the way it looked.

Switch Island? Looks nice though even though I have no idea where this is.

Good to know. Great photograph. But I appreciate your perspective and clarification. Thanks, Johnny Robbo.

Hiya Roni. Dunnings Bridge Road is the main road between Seaforth docks and getting to the M57 and M58 which all merge at a massive roundabout which is known as Switch Island. For that reason it is heavily laden with artic trucks. From there you can go to Preston on the A59 via Ormskirk, the A59 eventually leading to York. There is a big retail park just to the left of this pub with a massive Odeon, where the family were last night, hence the photo as I was in the area. Also a big Matalan, Mecca bingo and fast food outlets such as McDonalds and Subway.

This architects impression shows the new Liverpool Hilton's location. The green open space is the revamped Chavasse Park and the Hilton is the curved building just to the right of the park, with the brick-built Police HQ to its right. Salthouse Dock can be seen lower left.
