    The original of this and its companion, the Architect, are going in the People's City gallery in the new Pier Head museum. They were in the Museum of Liverpool life at Mann Island in the past.

    Here's a "monument" in Everton Cemetary where the inscription depicts buriels that where disturbed during the refurbishment of St Nicks church.


    And here is one of Liverpool's newest memorial plaques in honour of Dom Volante.

    Bring on the fury...

    In my last job ( before redundancy) we had chinese visitors (they took our jobs) and i was asked to take them sightseeing too liverpool, well not asked given a nice bonus to take them lmfao..
    so imagine how difficult it was to keep a straight face as they took pictures, and had pictures taken of themselves with this statue, running about shouting elvis ... yeah i had to walk away for a min as they took pics lmao

    i never corrected them

    Enclosed is the programme for walks and talks from June to September 2009. All the events will be on the first Sunday of the month and start at 10 a.m.

    June
    Prescot Town History - Sunday 7 June. Meet in the main car park at Prescot - leader, Tony Siebenthaler

    July
    History of Waterloo (hopefully including visit to house on Marine Crescent) - Sunday 5 July. Meet at Royal Hotel, Marine Crescent - leader, Brenda Murray

    August
    Pier Head group of Monuments - Sunday 2 August. Meet at George's Dock Building, Mann Island - leader, Robin Riley

    September
    Rock Park, Birkenhead - Sunday 6 September. Meeting venue to be arranged - leaders, Mary and Simon Petris.

    Future walks and talks are being planned as follows:-

    Liverpool city centre buildings - Alan Maycock
    Chester - Peter Cahill & Pat Nalder
    Flaybrick cemetery & Birkenhead Park - Mary & Simon Petris
    Sefton Park and Princes Park
