Default Pictures of Liverpool Life (Present)

Whilst taking a walk around Sefton Park today I decided to snap away at some of the people I saw round and about enjoying the sunshine too.

AFRICA Oye has been one of Liverpool's annual cultural highlights for 13 years.

Read more about Africa Oye plus the weekends' events here....

Have you snapped anyone recently? Feel free to add your own.

    Default Race for Life pictures

As per request some photos from the Race for Life that took place on the 17th of June.

I won't reveal names here on the net. I will tell you that the lady stood on the yellow line on the first picture has breast cancer and she finished the race before us all.

I can't take credit for the photos. I didn't take them, the lady with Breast cancer. Her husband was the only person to think about bringing a camera.

There were sections on the grass, yes, and it was really long and it was a pain. Sections were on roadway, which was good, meant I could try and make up some time.

Kath did the walk in 30 minutes. 2 others were about 10 minutes behind her and I was about 2 minutes behind them. The rest of the ladies came in about 10 minutes, maybe a little longer, after me.

The men supported their ladies that were running/walking as it's a female only race.

They did start a new race this year for the Bobbie Moore Cancer charity Run for Moore. That was only for the boys.

Didn't know exactly where to post this. It is interesting and worth a look. It is a picture of my grandfather and his crew of carpenters working on the Carnegie library at Green Lane and Lister Drive. It was taken about 1904/5 The place opened in 1905.
