Default Allerton Road (Mossley Hill) improvements

Has anyone heard of the proposed improvements being made to Allerton Road? I've heard Tescos are funding it?

I understand Tescos as part of the planning permission process for their giant store extension, are donating some ?700,000 towards the improvement costs of Allerton Rd. This is enough to remodel the road from Allerton Library to Queen's Drive. It involves removing the central reservation and widening the side access roads. See attached image of the plans. Overall it looks a great improvement.

The rest of Allerton Rd to Penny lane will be completed in another phase when the money is available.

I would like to think that the Library would benefit.
Oh as I was young and easy in the mercy of his means,
Time held me green and dying
Though I sang in my chains like the sea.

Just check the library catalogue and order it from whatever library has it in stock. You'll never get a large range of books in a small district library.

No sorry I don't. It shouldn't be too long I would have thought.

The flower containers are the result of work by the "Allerton in Bloom" group. Nothing to do with the council. Only trouble is the shops on Allerton Rd are not in Allerton but rather in the Mossley Hill district of what was once Wavertree and technically still is I suppose.
