Default Liverpool's St Valentine Day Massacre

This was actually in 1345 and was much more of a massacre than the famous one in Chicago in 1929 where I believe 7 men died.

In the Liverpool massacre, at least 27 died. The tale relates to a feud between the Radclyffe and Trafford families. The Radclyffes did most of the killing it seems. Sir John Radclyffe and others were arrested but later pardoned on condition of fighting for the King for a year at their own expense. Sir John radclyffe died in 1362.

It would be great fun to re-enact this massacre on the streets of Liverpool !! Bound to bring the tourists in to see the mock battle.

    Default Valentine fun

Don't you think there has been enough trouble
Oh as I was young and easy in the mercy of his means,
Time held me green and dying
Though I sang in my chains like the sea.

Re-enactment of old battles is great fun.For example cavaliers and Roundheads. Though perhaps we do see them on Saturday nights in town anyway !!!

Depends on the reasons for the feud and what actually happened on the day. Doesn't sound much of a battle, but does sound like it would be a really good idea, if the battle was right. Any naval battles happen near here ?

    Default After the carnage

I have seen the sealed knot in action they reinact the civil war and they take it quite serious. Theres hundreds of them all in costume. After the battle I scoured the battle field to see if I could find a sword. All I foundwas about twenty loafs of un cut bread. It was really fresh so I put them in bin bags and myself and fellow students had lots of toast as thick as Georges hall doorsteps

I remember the Sealed Knot did a re-enactment of a battle in Childwall / Woolton about 10-15 years ago. Our pub was packed with big fellas in musty woolen uniforms, big hats and lots of serving-wench types. Luckily not many weapons were about. What a lunch-time session that was!
