The Reeces you show was a cafe when me and some of the lads used to pop in there on a saturday afternoon circa 1979. Piped music, even in the bogs.
Deffo in there Ged.......Eh up...... ..Go ead Lad..

    Gerard.
Somebody from Australia asked would I take a pic - that's why I had it to hand.

    This is what he said:
"Many (many) years ago I was a doorman at a place off Lord Street. Going towards the Pier Head down Lord Street on the RIGHT was a narrow lane wide enough for one car (I think it was called Dorans Lane). Halfway along this lane on the LEFT hand side was a doorway called the "Bears Paw" beyond this double door was a staircase leading down to a very "60's decorated" bar and cocktail lounge. it was owned by one Harry Issacs and managed by a John Kerr. - At the end of Dorans Lane it became Harrington Street and if you turned LEFT here you came to another doorway which was part of the same place (all basements). This was called the Swiss Chalet which in its day was a disco. I was the doorman (bouncer!) on both although this was some 35 years ago and I doubt much would be left?"

I didn't mean to give the game away, but when you said 50 yds away, I thought your mystery wasn't on my photo.
I know the Bears Paw was Gay, but what about the Swiss Chalet?
