Default Liverpool's Alma De Cuba bar rescued from administration

LIVERPOOL'S award-winning Alma De Cuba bar has been rescued from administration just days before it hosts the Grand National winners party.

The trendy bar has been saved by a management team after the collapse of parent company TGI TB.

Directors stress that it is business as usual, and that tomorrow?s glittering Aintree party will be going ahead as planned.

A host of jockeys, sports stars and celebrities are expected to attend the glitzy event at the former church in Seel Street. Director Rob Preston said the business was sound, but had been dragged down by its sister venue in Penny Lane.

Dovedale Towers, formerly Lief and Alma De Santiago, hit the headlines when two bouncers were shot.

Mr Preston said: ?The place in Penny Lane had a number of problems and was not doing well financially.

?The business was placed in administration but we always knew Alma De Cuba was a great business, so some of the management team negotiated a buy-out with the administrators.

?It is very much business as usual and I want to stress that Saturday?s party is not affected at all.?
